Website updates - a big January one for you
We've been
cooking
recently, as we finally came out of the haze of Christmas and New Year to add a heap of features, refactor some old dependencies and rework lots of stuff in our backlog. We'll just get on with throwing you a big list of updates:- You can now remove cocktails from any of your own lists. How was this missing before?
- You can delete a cocktail that you've created from the cocktail creator
- New 'alcohol strength' filter on the results page so you can view a range of cocktails based on strength. This thing is clever so it only shows the minimum and maximum based on the results (rather than an arbitrary range)
- Still on the results page, we've added a new filter 'Can make but not tried' to help you discover some great new cocktails
- Moved the tried and want to try list toggle, on the cocktail page, out of the core list select box and given them their own toggle. Alongside this we reworked the height of that box for people with loads of personal lists.
- We've enhanced out billing page to show a lot more information for you, should you be a premium member. It now shows you if you subscribed via the app or the website, your premium level and more.
- We've completely rebuilt all modals on the site to use a new framework under the hood. This was huge, a massive refactor (theres a lot of modals throughout), but removed one of our old dependencies and also allowed us to migrate to a newer, more accessible and fresher looking modal.
- Alongside this, we've changed out search box that comes up to use this new framework as well (fluxui.dev for those who are interested). Not only is it super fast, but we've added imagery, given you the ability to view results for a generic search string (something we've been missing for a long time), and reworked the UI to be fresher and more aesthetically pleasing!
- We noticed the two floating buttons on the cocktail page were out of position now we're not highlighting our Christmas or New Year pages, so we repositioned those for when special dates aren't being shown there.
- We fixed a bug on the cocktail page for cocktails with large textual background content, where it would relayout the page incorrectly. This was from a previous refactor which we changed slightly, but forgot to change the layout back.
And probably some more to go alongside all this. We're working hard on our beautiful site and app this year, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates over the coming months!
